Cornell owns a 5-4 lead in a series against Penn State dating back to February 16, 1900 when the teams first met in State College, Pa., just Cornell's second season of program existence. PSU won the first meeting between the programs 18-5 as the February 23, 1900 issue of the Cornell Daily Sun recaps the game further below. The Cornell Daily Sun also accuses the Penn State spectators of interfering in the outcome. The teams also met in 1910, 1923, 1941, 1970, 1971, 1972, and 2005.
