- The EuroLeague website previews Jeff Foote's (Cornell '10) and Zalgiris' huge EuroLeague game today against Real Madrid.
- Tech Sidelines writes, "The coach: Steve Donahue is in his third season at Boston College, and he’s trying to revamp the program around his own Princeton style of offense. He was the head coach at Cornell before making the jump to BC. He led Cornell to three consecutive NCAA Tournaments before taking the BC job, including a 29-5 record and a Sweet 16 berth in 2010."
- The Eagle recaps American's recent struggles and its defeat to Cornell. The Eagle writes:
The Eagles’ 68-60 loss to Cornell (7-9) Jan. 6 at Bender Arena was a prime example of how failing to finish around the basket, execute defensively on ball screens and win the hustle plays can add up.“If we can make these significant, but relatively simple improvements and adjustments, you know, we could’ve won that game,” AU head coach Jeff Jones said. “You know, we could’ve won two or three other games that we were in until the very end.”It has been a problem consistently during the season, which is exactly what happened against Cornell Sunday.“There were times where I thought we played extremely hard,” Jones said. “But there were other times where I thought Cornell, you know, kind of outhustled us. There were times when we executed extremely well. And then there were times when, maybe, we didn’t.”
- CBS Sports of D.C. writes, "AU won’t be having fun this March after winning 20 games in four of the past five seasons. Coach Jeff Jones’ Eagles are just 5-10 and lost at home to Columbia, Cornell and Howard, which is 3-12 otherwise for coach Kevin Nickelberry."
- Athlon Sports writes, "Duke has limited more teams to fewer than four 3-pointers (Louisville, Delaware, Cornell and Clemson)."
- Longwood Athletics writes, "In addition to high profile road losses at No. 12 Creighton, No. 21 Georgetown, VCU, Seton Hall, Arkansas and Marshall, the Lancers have also lost at Canisius and to Cornell in Las Vegas, along with close home losses to Norfolk State, Dartmouth, Fairleigh Dickinson and Coastal Carolina … by an average margin of 9.0 points."
- Coastal Carolina Athletics writes, "Presbyterian is under the direction of Gregg Nibert who is in the midst of his 24th season as head coach at PC. The Blue Hose have yet to pick up a victory this season over a Division I opponent but have played one of the toughest schedules in the conference. PC opened the season with four-straight road games at Clemson, Georgia Tech, #15 Creighton and #24 Wisconsin. Their other D-I opponents have included Cornell, Florida A&M, Furman, Jacksonville State, Tennessee, Appalachian State, South Carolina and VMI. PC's three wins have come against Toccoa Falls, North Greenville and Montreat."

- Cornell RPI Watch: The RPI (Rating Percentage Index) is a measure of strength of schedule and how a team does against that schedule. It does not consider the margin of victory, but only whether or not a team won and where the game was played (home/away/neutral court). The formula is 25% team winning percentage (WP), 50% opponents' average winning percentage (OWP), and 25% opponents' opponents' average winning percentage (OOWP). (See: CollegeRPI.com for a further explanation of the formula.) The RPI may be the most influential factor in NCAA Tournament seeding. Cornell's RPI rank as of January 11 is No. 223 out of 344 total Division I teams. While neither the Ken Pomeroy or the Sagarin Rankings (USA Today) are used by the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee, the KenPom.com site ranks Cornell No. 258 in the nation, while the Sagarin Rankings (USA Today) have Cornell at No. 243 Both sites are predominantly used by fans and the media.
