- AOL.com and The Sporting News rank Cornell's 2010 Sweet Sixteen appearance as the 8th best Cinderella story in the NCAA Tournament's modern history. The Sporting News writes, "8. 2010 Cornell No. 12 seed to Sweet 16- This Cornell squad made it further than any Ivy League team since Penn in '79. The Big Red, making their third consecutive NCAA appearance, were loaded with talented upperclassmen, including sharpshooting senior forward Ryan Wittman and his 7-foot classmate, Jeff Foote. And they had confidence after almost knocking off top-ranked Kansas on the road during the regular season. Cornell beat fifth-seeded Temple by 13 and fourth-seeded Wisconsin by 18 before the run was ended by an athletic Kentucky squad in the Sweet 16."
- A Cornell Daily Sun columnist writes about why she hates Kentucky and notes, "Once you have slighted my team, Ivy rival or not, you’re dead to me. And Kentucky became dead to me on March 25, 2010. For those of you who have been living under a Red-free rock, that was the day Coach Cal and his one-and-done Wildcats (that is, Eric Bledsoe, John Wall, and DeMarcus Cousins) stopped the Cornell’s record-breaking Tourney run at the Sweet Sixteen, 62-45."
- Former Cornell men's assistant coach, Jonathan Tsipis, has been hired as the head women's basketball coach at George Washington. Tsipis coached at Cornell between 1996-1999 under Scott Thompson and joins G.W. after serving as an assistant coach for the women at Notre Dame.
