CBS Philadelphia on Penn's Visit to Cornell

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – After a weekend in New England, the Penn Quakers will now be in a New York  state of mind as they travel to Cornell and Columbia this weekend.

The Quakers sit at 6-18 on the season (3-4 in the Ivy) after a split last weekend – they lost at Harvard, 73-54, on Friday night and then rode a huge second half on Saturday night for a 67-57 win at Dartmouth.

“We didn’t play our style of basketball for about sixty minutes,” Penn head coach Jerome Allen tells KYW Newsradio. “That’s the forty minutes on Friday night and the first twenty minutes beginning Saturday night. But to their credit, they faced some adversity, they kept together and played for one another.”

First off this weekend, the Quakers will take on a Cornell sqaud that sits at 13-12 overall on the season. They are third in the Ancient 8 with a 5-3 mark.

“I just think they play hard,” Allen says. “They’reaggressive, they attack in transition, they defend. They really try to put the ball on the floor and attack the paint.”
