- The Ivy League previews the weekend games and writes:
The foursome of games involving Columbia and Cornell against Brown and Yale also provide critical contests in the title conversation as the Ivy slate reaches the midway point.Friday's game with Cornell (11-12, 3-3 Ivy) and Yale (9-14, 3-3 Ivy) pits two evenly matched teams looking to break their tie in the standings. Both teams are averaging an identical 66.3 ppg with the Bulldogs allowing 66.7 ppg and Big Red allowing 69.0 ppg. Each team will need big performances on both end of the floor to create some separation in the middle of the pack.Senior forward Errick Peck has been a presence down low for the Big Red as of late, after averaging 14.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.5 steals in his last two games. Yale has seen contributions from numerous player as six players have averaged at least 9.0 ppg in the Bulldogs' last two games. One of the key contributors has been freshman forward Justin Sears, who returned to the lineup from injury and averaged 10.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in the team's road sweep over Penn and Princeton.***Cornell (11-12, 3-3 Ivy) at Yale (9-14, 3-3 Ivy)Date: Friday, February 15 – 7 p.m.Location: John J. - The Harvard Crimson previews the weekend games and writes of Cornell:
CORNELL at YALEFollowing the Bulldogs’ stunning road upset of Princeton on Saturday, one might have expected bold fonts and exclamation points from a lesser student newspaper covering the event. But, when greeted by success, every veteran knows the necessity of acting like you’ve been there before. That’s why the Yale Daily News didn’t give the upset its own article, and @YDNsports waited a day before composing an original tweet to acknowledge the victory. No need to spike the football.Pick: Cornell***CORNELL at BROWNThis yawn-inducing Ivy League matchup will be played at Brown’s own Pizzitola Sports Center, or “the Pizza,” as I will disrespectfully refer to it. Did you know John Heisman went to Brown? Yeah, the guy with the trophy. It so happens that one of the lobbies inside the Pizza is named after him. One of the most distinguished athletic alumni in the university’s history gets a lobby inside a building called…the Pizza. Get the man a weight room, at least.Pick: Cornell
- The Columbia Spectator quotes Kyle Smith after his team's win over Harvard. "I think it will be proved that that was a turning point. But I thought maybe Villanova was, and you know Cornell, maybe that was, and it hasn’t been, thus far. So, you know, we’ll see.”

- Cornell RPI Watch: The RPI (Rating Percentage Index) is a measure of strength of schedule and how a team does against that schedule. It does not consider the margin of victory, but only whether or not a team won and where the game was played (home/away/neutral court). The formula is 25% team winning percentage (WP), 50% opponents' average winning percentage (OWP), and 25% opponents' opponents' average winning percentage (OOWP). (See: CollegeRPI.com for a further explanation of the formula.) The RPI may be the most influential factor in NCAA Tournament seeding. Cornell's RPI rank as of February 15 is No. 220 out of 344 total Division I teams. While neither the Ken Pomeroy or the Sagarin Rankings (USA Today) are used by the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee, the KenPom.com site ranks Cornell No. 233 in the nation, while the Sagarin Rankings (USA Today) have Cornell at No. 219. Both sites are predominantly used by fans and the media.
