• Policymic writes, "...the Ivy League is nowhere to be seen. The Ivy League is a perennial underachiever in the NCAA tournament (with the exception of Cornell’s 2010 Sweet 16 run, a team which lost to then top-seeded Kentucky)."

• Jeff Foote (Cornell '10) and his Zalgiris (Lithuania) club have a Top 16 EuroLeague game today against former NBA vet and UConn star, Marcus Williams and Unicaja Malaga.

• Sports Chat Place, a gambling website, predicts tonight's game against Brown.

• The Harvard Crimson picks the Cornell games this weekend and writes:

BROWN at CORNELL

It’s a two-game road trip for the Bears, which generally portends two disastrous losses. Brown is 3-10 on the road this year, as compared to a surprisingly decent 7-4 home record. Perhaps the Bears owe their relative success at the Pizzitola Sports Center to those aforementioned students. Unfortunately, no self-respecting human would dare venture too deep into Ithaca without a compelling reason, and spectating at an insignificant basketball game just fails to qualify.

YALE at CORNELL

At one point in the Ivy season, this game might have mattered. Yale and Cornell beat up on the dregs of the Ancient Eight enough that their supporters were deluded into thinking they might challenge for the title. Now they’re duking it out for third and (maybe!) a bid to the Collegeinsider.com Postseason Tournament, or, as it’s colloquially known, March Sadness.

• Cornell RPI Watch: The RPI (Rating Percentage Index) is a measure of strength of schedule and how a team does against that schedule. It does not consider the margin of victory, but only whether or not a team won and where the game was played (home/away/neutral court). The formula is 25% team winning percentage (WP), 50% opponents' average winning percentage (OWP), and 25% opponents' opponents' average winning percentage (OOWP). (See: CollegeRPI.com for a further explanation of the formula.) The RPI may be the most influential factor in NCAA Tournament seeding. Cornell's RPI rank as of March 1 is No. 217 out of 344 total Division I teams. While neither the Ken Pomeroy or the Sagarin Rankings (USA Today) are used by the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee, the KenPom.com site ranks Cornell No. 233 in the nation, while the Sagarin Rankings (USA Today) have Cornell at No. 220 Both sites are predominantly used by fans and the media.
