News and Notes: Monday Edition

Below, some news and notes for Monday...
  • Jeff Foote (Cornell '10) is set to participate in the NBA Summer League in Orlando with the Brooklyn Nets between July 9 and 13. Nets Daily writes, "When your summer league roster has players with more than 800 games worth of NBA experience and two NBA championship rings, you should do alright. The roster is composed of two Nets rookies from last year, Marshon Brooks and Jordan Williams; their top draft pick, Tyshawn Taylor; a Springfield Armor player, Jeff Foote; three former lottery picks looking for work, Adam Morrison, Al Thornton and Julian Wright; an international player, Taureen Green; the D-League's Rookie of the Year, Edwin Ubiles; and a few undrafted players from this year's draft, only of whom, Ashton Gibbs, has been identified."
  • Rumble in the Garden makes reference to Foote's participation  in the Nike Summer Pro City League.
  • In reference to Foote's 10-Dat contract with the New Orleans Hornets during the 2011-2012 season, The Roar writes, "[T]he Hornets [had] a total of 22 players suit up for them, in a league where the roster maximum for any one time is 15, including three emergencies who aren’t in uniform on game night. This included nine temporary players on 10-day or other short-term contracts. Jeff Foote, Solomon Jones, Donald Sloan, DaJuan Summers, Darryl Watkins, Jerome Dyson and a trio of Johnsons – Carldell, Chris and Trey – all suited up and played significant minutes."
