News and Notes: Afternoon Edition

Some late afternoon news and notes...
  • SB Nation writes, "The Maryland Terrapins (9-3) end their non-conference season Tuesday when they take on the Cornell Big Red (4-3) at Comcast Center. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. Eastern on ESPN3.com. The Terrapins have won their last six games, their longest streak since they won seven straight from Feb. 15-Mar. 6, 2010... Cornell, in contrast, has not fared as well as Maryland, losing each of its last four games, but none by more than nine points; it's not as though the Big Red have been blown out during their losing skid. On Saturday, they fell to the Bucknell Bison, 63-60, despite 18 points from Johnathan Gray. Bucknell overcame a five-point halftime deficit to prevail. Tuesday's meeting is the first betweem Maryland and Cornell since Nov. 1993, when the Terps crushed the Big Red, 92-41."
  • The Washington Examiner writes, "the [Maryland] Terps come to the end of a 6-0 non-conference run that ends this evening at Comcast Center against Cornell... Tonight’s matchup with Cornell will be another stepping stone for the Terps as they continue to blend the new pieces with stalwarts."
