St. Francis Athletics Game Notes for Cornell

FULL PREGAME RELEASE (pdf)

The Red Flash makes the trip north to face Cornell before taking a 10-day break from play to accommodate final exams. After a string of three consecutive setbacks to the Big Red dating back to the 2003-04 season, Saint Francis will attempt to even up the all-time series on the road this weekend.

Both teams have had their fair share of struggles through the early part of the 2013-14 campaign. Saint Francis enters Saturday's game with a 1-7 mark, with its lone win coming against Navy (which is now 5-3). Cornell is one of the six winless teams left in NCAA Division I this season.

Both squads have also had a handful of near misses. SFU was tied with now-25th-ranked Dayton with 4:06 to play, down by one with 2:52 to go against Lehigh and down seven at George Mason with 5:33 to play. Looking to avoid its first 0-10 start in 109 years, the Big Red fell by 10 points or fewer on three occasions.

Saint Francis returns to the Stokes Athletics Center on Dec. 17 for its final home game of the 2013 calendar year. The Frankies will host the Duquesne Dukes at 7 p.m.
