About the Game
  • Stony Brook plays its final game of the 2013 calendar year at home against the Cornell Big Red, looking to improve to 9-4.
  • This is the eighth all-time meeting between the two teams, and the Big Red lead the series 4-3, but the #Seawolves have won each of the last two matchups. Stony Brook is 17-15 all-time against the Ivy League.
  • The #Seawolves are 29-2 in their last 31 games at Pritchard Gymnasium.
  • Jameel Warney had 20 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and four blocks at Loyola Maryland this past Thursday. He had 19 points and 11 rebounds last year at Cornell, which was his first career double-double.
Scouting Cornell
  • The Big Red were picked to finish sixth in the Ivy League. Although Cornell has not had a winning season in the league since 2009-10, over the course of the last seven seasons, the Big Red have the most conference wins of any league member (65).
  • Cornell is the only remaining winless Div. I team. The Big Red have lost 16 consecutive games, dating back to last season. Despite the 0-10 record, Cornell has played some close games and also some very tough games against ranked opponents.
  • The road has been unkind to Cornell - the Big Red are 0-5 away from home and the average margin of loss has been by 27.4 points.
  • Sophomore Nolan Cressler leads the team, averaging 17.1 points a game.
  • The deep-shooting Big Red average 8.2 three-pointers made per game and have connected on a three-pointer in 696 consecutive games.
If Stony Brook Wins...
  • Stony Brook will improve to 9-4, which will match the 2012-13 team for best 13-game start in the program's Div. I history.
  • The #Seawolves will even their all-time record against Cornell at 4-4.
