GAME 13: ITEMS OF NOTE
>> Sunday's game between Saint Peter's and Cornell marks the third meeting in the all-time series dating back to the 2012-13 season.
>> The Peacocks have won both meetings in the series and will be making their second trip in three years to Ithaca to play the Big Red. Saint Peter's defeated Cornell 67-59 on Dec. 28, 2013.
>> The Peacocks are 1-1 against the Ivy League this season after falling 70-58 in the season opener at Brown on Nov. 14 and then defeated Princeton 60-46 on Dec. 10.
>> Saint Peter's is 9-4 all-time against teams from the Ivy League in program history. The team has faced six out of the eight teams in the circuit with the exception of Harvard and Penn.
>> Senior Marvin Dominique tallied 26 points and 13 rebounds to power the Peacocks to a 67-59 win in last year's tilt.
>> Senior Desi Washington and sophomore Trevis Wyche each added 11 points against the Big Red.
>> Nolan Cressler and sophomore Robert Hatter each registered 21 points for Cornell last year in Jersey City.
>> Saint Peter's comes into the contest 5-7 after rallying from a 12-point first half deficit for a 69-60 victory on Monday. The Peacocks closed the game on a 14-1 run in the final 3:15 of the game.
>> Dominique powered the Peacocks with 18 points and nine rebounds. Washington and senior Tyler Gaskins each added 17 points against the Knights. The 17 points for Gaskins was a career high.
>> Dominique paces the team with 15.5 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.
>> Cornell comes into the contest 6-5 after defeating Siena 75-57 on Tuesday.
>> Senior Shonn Miller paced the Big Red with 26 points and 15 rebounds. Hatter added 21 points against the Saints.
>> Miller leads the team with 16.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.
>> The Peacocks are the third Metro Atlantic Atlantic Conference team on Cornell's schedule. Along with the win against Siena, the Big Red also recorded a 67-60 win against Canisus on Nov. 26.
>> The squad will then restart league play at Quinnipiac on Jan. 2 and play the final 18 league games in the New Year.  The two teams split the season series last year in the Bobcats first year in the circuit.
>> The Peacocks return home to host Marist on Jan. 4 in the second part of a doubleheader. The two teams split last year's series with each team winning on its home floor. It will be Saint Peter's only home game in the first 15 days of January.
>> The squad will play four of its first five games in the New Year on the road in the first 14 days of the month.  Saint Peter's will play 10 of its final 18 contests on the road. 
WHAT'S TRENDING
>> After starting out the season 0-4, Saint Peter's has won five of its last eight contests.
>> The Peacocks are 5-0 when they score 60 points in a game a game and 5-2 when they hold an opponent to 60 points or less.
>> Senior Marvin Dominique has scored at least 18 points in a game five times this season and 16 times in his two years in Jersey City.  Dominique was held to single digit in points against Seton Hall on Dec. 14 and then rebounded with 18 points against Fairleigh Dickinson. The senior has scored at least 17 points after a game he has been held until 10 points.
>> Senior Desi Washington has scored double figures in all four games this season. After missing eight games with a hand injury, the senior is averaging 16.0 points per game in the three games since returning.  Washington also has posted at least five rebounds in the three games since his return. He has scored 10+ in 10-straight games dating back to the end of last season. Washington has posted three 18-point games in that span and is averaging 14.9 points per game in that stretch.
>> Senior Tyler Gaskins established a new career high with 17 points against the Knights. It was his fifth double-digit point performance this season. Gaskins has scored at least nine points in each of his last six games and is averaging 11.3 points per game in that stretch. The senior has scored double figures at the Yanitelli Center for the fourth time this season and the fifth time in his career.
>> Sophomore Trevis Wyche stuffed the stat sheet with six points, six assists and five rebounds against Fairleigh Dickinson. The sophomore has dished out at least five assists five times in his last seven games and is averaging 4.8 assists per game in that stretch. Wyche has posted at least six points and five assists in a game four times this season.
>> All five of the squad's wins have been by eight points or more while four of the seven loses have been by a three-point margin or less and have been decided by a combined total of eight points. Three of the losses have been by nine points or more.
A HOLIDAY AFFAIR
>> With the win against Fairleigh Dickinson on Dec. 23, Saint Peter's improved to 2-7 in the final game before the Christmas Holiday under head coach John Dunne.  Both wins have come against the Knights.
>> Saint Peter's is 3-5 under Dunne in the first game back after the holiday, including the 67-59 win against Cornell last year. 
GRUELING SCHEDULE
>> Saint Peter's will have a little time to relax now that the team is in a stretch of two games in 18 days.
>> The squad played Fairleigh Dickinson on Dec. 23 and travel to Cornell on Dec. 28.
>> The Peacocks concluded a span of 11 games in 31 days to start the season after its game against Seton Hall on Dec. 14.
>> The squad went 4-7 in that stretch, but have won four of its last seven.
>> After its game against Cornell, the slate picks back up the faster pace with six games over a 15 day period, starting at Quinnipiac on Jan. 2.
>> Saint Peter's will play 10 of its remaining 18 league games in January, seven in February and one in March before the MAAC Tournament.
>> The Peacocks have seven of its 10 games in January on the road and four of seven in February away from Jersey City, but will play five of seven at the Yanitelli Center from Jan. 16-Feb. 9 during that 20 day span.
>> The squad will pay for that five games in 20-day period by having four of its first five games in January on the road and four of the final six games on the slate away from the Yanitelli Center.
>> Saint Peter's played seven games in the month of November in a span of 15 days.
>> The Peacocks played four games in a seven-day period as part of the Barclays Classic from Nov. 22-Nov. 29.
>> Saint Peter's will play six times in December.
>> It is the first time in program history the squad had seven games in the month of November and the sixth time the squad will have played seven games in a month before the New Year for the sixth time under head coach John Dunne and the first since December 2011.
ON THE ROAD
>> Senior Marvin Dominique is averaging 15.3 points and 9.8 rebounds per game in six road games this season.  The senior has scored double figures in four of the six games away from Jersey City, including a 22-point performances against Rutgers on Nov. 22 and Boston University on Dec. 6.
>> Senior Desi Washington has scored double digits in both games he has played on the road this season after posting 11 points against Brown on Nov. 14 and 13 points against Seton Hall on Dec. 14.
>> Saint Peter's is averaging 58.0 points per game on the road while allowing 59.3 points per game. The Peacocks are shooting 41.2 percent from the field while the opponents are hitting at a 38.5 percent clip.
>> The squad is 2-4 away from Jersey City this year, after falling 67-52 at Seton Hall on Dec. 14.
CLOSE CONTESTS
>> Saint Peter's is 8-9 in one-point games under head coach John Dunne in his nine seasons in Jersey City and 28-32 in games decided by five points or less.
>> The Peacocks were 7-5 in games decided by five points or less last season and 3-1 in tilts decided by one point, but have not had the same luck this campaign suffering a one-point loss and a pair of two-point losses.
>> The squad is 0-1 this year in one-point games after falling 51-50 to Hartford on Nov. 16 and then lost by two points to Niagara (61-59) on Nov. 20, Norfolk State (60-58) on Nov. 29 and three points to Canisius (70-67) on Dec. 3.
>> Saint Peter's has lost four of its six games by a combined eight points, including three games at the Yanitelli Center by a combined seven points.
THE SUPPORTING CAST
>> Now that senior Desi Washington has returned from injury, the team has reverted to its opening game lineup.
>> Junior Elias Desport is usually one of the first post players off the bench and has played significant minutes this season. The junior has scored double-digits twice this year to reach 10 points for the first time in his career.
>> Sophomore Chazz Patterson filled in for Washington as a starter for five games and just like Desport is averaging close to 20 minutes a game. Patterson has scored at least seven points four times this season, including two double-figure games.
>> Senior Jamel Fields and sophomore Trevis Wyche make a great combo at point guard. Fields scored eight points against La Salle on Nov. 22 and has dished out five assists in a game twice this season.
>> Freshman Elisha Boone has seen significant minutes off the bench and has registered eight points or more twice this season, including an eight-point, nine-board game against the Explorers.
>> Sophomore Travis Hester has played in nine games and has posted nine points or more four times including two double-digit contests. Hester has drained 16 of 33 attempts from behind the arc.
>> Senior Kris Rolle has played sparingly this season, but came up big for the Peacocks last season. Rolle played 174 of his 244 minutes last season in the final 20 games and participated in the final 17 contests.
DOMINANT DOMINIQUE
>> Senior Marvin Dominique has recorded double figures in 39 of the 43 games in a Peacocks uniform. He has posted at least 15 points in 21 of those contests, 20 points in 11 tilts and 30 points in one game.
>> Dominique has also been a force on the boards, notching 15 games with double-digits in boards and in each of those games also registered a double-double.
>> The senior notched a career-high 31 points along with 14 rebounds in his first game in a Saint Peter's uniform against LIU Brooklyn on Nov. 9, 2013.
>> He had a career-high 16 boards vs. Niagara on Dec. 3, 2013.
>> Dominique has recorded double figures in points  in 17 of the 19 non-conference games at Saint Peter's.
NO COMPLAINTS FROM LUCY
>> Senior Desi Washington has scored double figures 53 times in his Saint Peter's career, including 28 times with 15 points or more, 10 games with at least 20 points and two 30-point performances.
>> The senior is also a threat from behind the arc, leading the team in 3-pointers in a game 49 times.
>> Washington scored a career-high 34 points against Seton Hall on Dec. 14, 2013.
>> Washington returned after missing eight games due to an injury against Princeton on Dec. 10 and is averaging 16.0 points per game in three games since returning from the injury.
ASSISTING WYCHE
>> Sophomore Trevis Wyche has fueled the team in assists in 33 of the 43 games in his career. He has led the team in assists five this season.
>> Wyche became the first player since Keydren Clark against Marist on Jan. 25, 2006 to hand out 10 assists in a game when he had 10 dimes against Boston University on Dec. 6. It was also the first time a player reached the feat on the road since Clark did it in 2004.
>> The sophomore has dished out at least five assists in a game 17 times in his two seasons and seven or more five times.
>> He also fueled the team in steals 16 times and notched a personal-best three thefts three times.
>> Wyche recorded double figures in points 13 times in his career.
>> The sophomore notched a career-best 16 points in both contests against Quinnipiac last season.
WELTON THE ROAD WARRIOR
>> Sophomore Quadir Welton has posted seven games with at least 10 points and three games with at least 10 rebounds.
>> Welton has scored double figures three this season.
>> The sophomore has reached a personal-best 16 points three times in his career. After reaching the milestone in both of his season openers against LIU Brooklyn on Nov. 9, 2013 and Brown on Nov. 14, 2014, Welton posted 16 points against Boston University on Dec. 6.
>> Welton has posted a career-high 16 points three times in his career and reached exactly 10 points four times in his career. He has reached double figures six times on the road and once at home.
>> Welton posted 10 points against Canisius on Dec. 3 for his first 10-point game at the Yanitelli Center. He then matched his career high with 16 points against the Terriers on Dec. 6 to record back-to-back 10-point performances for the first time in his career.
>> The sophomore reached a career-best 11 boards twice in his career.

>> Senior Tyler Gaskins recorded a career-high 17 points against Fairleigh Dickinson on Dec. 14. >> Junior Elias Desport posted a career-best 12 points against Seton Hall on Dec. 14.
>> Sophomore Quadir Welton has matched his career high of 16 points twice this year after reaching the mark versus Brown on Nov. 14 and Boston University on Dec. 6.
>> Sophomore Trevis Wyche had a career-best 10 assists against Boston University on Dec. 6.
>> Freshman Elisha Boone produced a career-best 11 points against Canisius on Dec. 3.
>> Sophomore Travis Hester recorded a personal-best 15 points in that contest.

PRESEASON HONORS
>> Senior Marvin Dominique was named to the All-MAAC Preseason first team. The senior averaged 16.6 points and 8.9 rebounds per game last season.
>> Senior Desi Washington was selected to the All-MAAC Preseason second team. Washington was second on the squad with 13.5 points and 3.1 rebounds per game last year.
>> Saint Peter's was picked fourth in the MAAC Preseason Coaches Poll. Iona, Siena and Manhattan were the three teams picked ahead of the Peacocks.
MILESTONE WATCH
>> Senior Desi Washington scored his 1,000th point in against Canisius on Jan. 3, 2014 of his junior campaign. Washington is now closing in on 1,000 points in his Saint Peter's career, needing 83 points to reach the grand total in his three seasons in Jersey City.
>> Senior Marvin Dominique has 874 points in his career between Fordham and Saint Peter's, needing 126 points this season to reach the 1,000-point mark for his career. Dominique scored 514 points last season in his first campaign in Jersey City.
THE 20-POINT CLUB
>> Seniors Marvin Dominique and Desi Washington are the only two players on the roster that have posted a 20-point game in their career in Jersey City.
>> Dominique has scored at least 20 points in a game 12 times in his career and that includes one 30-point performance. The senior has two 20-point games this season.
>> Washington has also registered 10 games with at least 20 points in his Peacocks career, including two 30-point contests.
>> Senior Jamel Fields has also posted 20 points in his career, but he accomplished the mark while he played at Fairfield.
>> Saint Peter's is 39-38 when a player has a 20-point performance under head coach John Dunne. >> A player has scored at least 30 points in a game five times under Dunne.
BOARDS UP
>> Senior Marvin Dominique and sophomore Quadir Welton are the only players on the roster that have reached double-figures in rebounds.
>> Dominique has posted 10+ rebounds 15 times in his career while Welton has done it three times.
>> Senior Kris Rolle came close to reaching double-digit boards when he hauled in nine caroms against Siena on Jan. 23, 2013.
DOUBLE VISION
>> Senior Marvin Dominique and sophomore Quadir Welton are the only players on the roster that have posted double-doubles in their career.
>> Dominique leads the team with 15 double-doubles in his career while Welton has one double-double in career.
AGAINST THE BIG DOGS
>> Head coach John Dunne has wins against Alabama, Rutgers and Seton Hall on his resume in four of the last five seasons.
>> The Peacocks defeated Alabama 50-49 on Nov. 22, 2010 during the USVI Paradise Jam.  The squad then opened the 2012-13 season with a 56-52 win against Rutgers on Nov. 9, 2012, won a thriller 83-80 in overtime against Seton Hall on Dec. 14, 2013 and then posted a 68-50 win against Rutgers on Nov. 25.
>> The squad has beat Rutgers in back-to-back games for the first time in team history and improved to 3-3 under Dunne against the Scarlett Knights.
>> Saint Peter's is 5-12 under Dunne against big name programs and 4-2 against those opponents in games decided by under 10 points.  
GARDEN STATE OF MIND
>> Saint Peter's will play six of the other seven Division I teams located in the state of New Jersey
>> The game on Dec. 23 against Fairleigh Dickinson concludes a three-game series against teams from New Jersey. The Peacocks defeated Princeton 60-46 on Dec. 10 before falling to Seton Hall 67-52 on Dec. 14 and then downed the Knights 69-60.
>> The Peacocks defeated Rutgers 68-50 on Nov. 25 and will play Rider and Monmouth in MAAC play as part of the hOURglass Rivalry after the New Year.
>> The squad also battled NJIT in preseason, but the two teams will not meet in the regular season.
>> Saint Peter's is currently 3-1 against the Garden State.
>> The Peacocks have never played all seven New Jersey teams in the same season. This season marks the third time under head coach John Dunne the team will have played six of the seven New Jersey teams.
THE NEWCOMERS
>> Junior college transfers Simeon Dennis and Travis Hester along with freshmen Elisha Boone and Rodney Hawkins all joined the team in 2014-15.
>> Hawkins had to sit out the first semester due to NCAA Division I transfer regulations. Hawkins attended Delaware State for a semester last year, but did not play for the Hornets prior to coming to Saint Peter's. He is eligible to play starting with the Saint Peter's game against Fairleigh Dickinson on Dec. 23.
WASHINGTON AND ESPN
>> Senior Desi Washington hit the game-winning 3-pointer in the final 3.3 seconds of a game four times last year.
>> After he hit the game-winning 3-pointer in a 55-52 overtime win against Fairfield in the MAAC Tournament First Round, Washington was the buzz on ESPN for the next couple of days.
>> Sports Center showed all three game-winners right before its nightly Top-10 on Mar. 6 and then the live edition of Sports Center produced a three-minute segment the next morning where the guard's heroics against the Stags were compared to Reggie Miller against the Knicks, Eli Manning against the Patriots and David Ortiz against the Yankees. The ESPN show Around The Horn had a short segment on Washington on and College Game Day also touched on the subject.
>> Washington's first game-winner against Fairfield in the regular season was the No. 9 Play of the Day in the Top-10 countdown.
>> Washington's heroics were also covered by Yahoo Sports and Sports Illustrated.
>> The senior also hit the game-winning 3-pointer in an 83-80 overtime win against Seton Hall to end a 17-game losing streak against the Pirates, but that shot did not get the fan fare that the three against Fairfield received.
ALL IN THE FAMILY
>> Senior Kris Rolle and sophomore Quadir Welton both have relatives that have seen time in the professional ranks.
>> Rolle's cousin is New York Giants' safety Antrel Rolle. The safety was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals before he signed a five-year contract with the Giants in 2010 and was a member of the Super Bowl XLVI championship team.
>> Welton's uncle is former NBA star Rasheed Wallace. Wallace played 16 seasons in the NBA for Washington (1995-96), Portland (1996-04), Atlanta (2004), Detroit (2004-09), Boston (2009-10) and New York Knicks (2012-13). Wallace, a four-time All-Star won an NBA title with Detroit in 2004.
QUICK HITS ON DUNNE
>> Head coach John Dunne is in his eighth season at Saint Peter's.
>> He led the team to the 2011 MAAC Tournament title and berth in the NCAA Tournament.
>> Dunne has coached five 1,000-point scorers, three All-MAAC second-team selections, four All-MAAC third-team honorees, two MAAC All-Rookie selections, a MAAC Tournament Most Valuable Player, three MAAC All-Tournament selections and an All-MAAC Academic honoree.
ABOUT THE COACHING STAFF
>> Assistant Coaches Marlon Guild, Matt Henry and Serge Clement all return back to the bench for head coach John Dunne.
>> Guild has been on Dunne's staff for seven of his nine seasons while Henry and Clement both return for their second season in Jersey City.
>> Greg Van Pelt joins the staff in 2014-15 as the Director of Basketball Operations. He replaces Ryan Patrick Woerner.
