About the Game
Playing its third game in the last 100 hours, Stony Brook hits the road to face Ivy League member Cornell Wednesday night. The Seawolves are hoping to cap November with their fifth win, which would match the 2009-10 team for most November wins in the program’s Div. I history. This is the seventh all-time meeting between the two teams, and the Big Red lead the series 4-2 and have won all three matchups in Ithaca. Last year, the Seawolves beat Cornell at home in overtime, which helped spark Stony Brook’s run of 19 wins over 21 games from December 2011 to February 2012.

Scouting Cornell
The Big Red are in their third season under head coach Bill Courtney as they seek a return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2010. They return three starters from last season’s team that went 12-16 overall and 7-7 in the Ivy League. After a 1-4 start this season that included a loss to nationally ranked Wisconsin, Cornell has won its last two games and averaged 86.5 points in the process. Devin Cherry is the team’s only scorer in double figures at 10.3 PPG, and Nolan Cresser is shooting over 53% from three-point range. Cornell is 19-21 all-time against members of America East.

Last Time Out
Stony Brook outmuscled nationally ranked Connecticut in the paint, but the Huskies did their damage on the perimeter with 10 three-pointers, including eight in the second half, to come away with a 73-62 win over the Seawolves. Stony Brook led for most of the first half and was leading 39-35 with under 13 minutes remaining in the second half, when the Huskies hit a flurry of trifectas to spark a 26-8 run and go up by 14 points. The Seawolves outrebounded UConn 38-35 and outscored it in the paint 24-18.Dave Coley led the Seawolves with 15 points, and Tommy Brenton added 14.
