Radford Athletics Game Notes for Visit to Cornell




LIVE STATS | LIVE AUDIO | GAME NOTES

Radford takes a three-game winning streak into a Monday night road matchup at Cornell. Tipoff from Newman Arena is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Ithaca, N.Y. The Highlanders complete their New York swing after defeating Binghamton on Saturday, 69-63.

RU SPORTS RADIO NETWORK
• Each Radford men's basketball game can be heard live in the New River Valley on the RU Sports Radio Network on the campus flagship, WRVU 89.9-FM and on the commercial affiliate, SuperSports 101.7-FM. Rick Watson handles the play-by-play for the Highlanders.

SERIES NOTES
• This will be the first meeting between Radford and Cornell and the first time the Highlanders have visited any Ivy League school.
• The Highlanders are 1-0 all-time vs. teams from the Ivy League. Radford opened the 2004-05 season with a 72-71 victory over Yale in the William & Mary Classic.

SCOUTING THE BIG RED
• Cornell is 0-6 to start the season, but three of those losses could have easily been wins, including the last outing vs. Siena. The Saints scored the winning points in the final seconds for a 71-70 win over the Big Red.
• The Big Red also lost an overtime decision to Loyola (Md.) and held a 19-point lead with 12 mintues to play over Binghamton before the Bearcats came back to post a 10-point win.
• Cornell is 0-3 at home this season. The Big Red have dropped 12 straight games overall and seven straight at home.
• Nolan Cressler leads Cornell averaging 18.3 points per game and is the only player in double figures for the Big Red.
• Opponents over the first six games are shooting .496 from the field and .450 from behind the arc against Cornell.

LAST TIME OUT
• Radford overcame a 14-point second half deficit to win its third straight game, 69-63, at Binghamton on Saturday.
Javonte Green led the Highlanders with 17 points and 8 rebounds.
Ya Ya Anderson added 12 and Rashun Davis 10 points. Allen Dickerson tied a career high with 9 points for the second straight game.

MILESTONES
• With 8 rebounds at Binghamton, Javonte Green surpassed 500 for his career. He now has 501.
• Radford is 3-1 for the second time in three seasons under head coach Mike Jones.

HIGHLANDERS IN THE CAREER AND SEASON RECORD BOOKS
Javonte Green ranks 6th all-time at RU with 193 career offensive rebounds.
Javonte Green ranks tied for fourth all-time at Radford with a career rebounding average of 7.4 per game.
R.J. Price ranks 9th all-time in career three-point field goals made with 150.

HARD TO BELIEVE STAT
Jalen Carethers has 19 career steals in his first two years as a Highlander. They have all come one at a time in 19 different games.
Brandon Holcomb has 14 career steals in his first two years as a Highlander. They have all come one at a time in 14 different games.
