Orange Opens 113th Season Friday
The wait for Syracuse men's basketball fans is over as the No. 8/7 Orange officially opens the 2013-14 campaign on Friday, Nov. 8 against Central New York foe Cornell. Tipoff in the Carrier Dome is set for 7 p.m.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The wait for Syracuse men's basketball fans is over as the No. 8/7 Orange officially opens the 2013-14 campaign on Friday, Nov. 8 against Central New York foe Cornell. Tipoff in the Carrier Dome is set for 7 p.m.

Tickets for Friday's game are available online, by phone (1-888-DOMETIX) or in person at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B). The game will be broadcast on the ACC Regional Sports Network. Click here for a complete list of affiliates carrying Friday's game.

What to Watch For – Syracuse
1. Syracuse made the program's fifth appearance in the Final Four in 2012-13. The Orange finished the year with a record of 30-10, marking the first time in school history that SU has won 30 or more games in back-to-back seasons.
2. Head coach Jim Boeheim begins his 38th year at the helm of the Orange program. Last season, the Hall of Famer became just the third Division I coach to record 900 career victories and moved into second place on the all-time wins list by a Division I coach.
3. Syracuse returns its top scorer and rebounder from last season in senior C.J. Fair. Fair is the Preseason ACC Player of the Year and is on the watch list for the Oscar Robertson Award. In addition, he is a candidate for the Senior CLASS Award, which recognizes seniors who excel in the community, the classroom, character and competition.

What to Watch For – Cornell
1. Bill Courtney is in his fourth season at Cornell. He has guided the Big Red to a record of 35-52. Last season, Cornell finished with an overall mark of 13-18 and a 5-9 record in the Ivy League, which was good for sixth place.
2. Junior forward Shonn Miller led Cornell in nearly every statistical category last season, including scoring (11.5 ppg.), rebounding (6.8 rpg.) blocks (51) and steals (52). He started all 27 games in which he played.
3. The Big Red was picked to finish in a tie for sixth place in the Ivy League preseason media poll.
